Tenby Memories

I love the weather,
The cleanliness of the beach,
The fine sand
And my children digging tunnels,
Building sandcastles
And paddling in the clear water.

This is a place to sit back and relax,
Have a picnic on the beach table with salt, vinegar
and a bottle of wine,
Doing it in style
Making friends
Collecting memories
That stretch all the way back to childhood
When tumbleweed blew through the town in winter
And seals popped their heads out of the water
As we stood on the north beach
Before getting the boat to Caldey Island in June.

Trampolining through the summer
We parked and rode,
Took golf lessons and long walks at low tide,
Borrowed books from the library van in the car park,
Snorkled,
Boogy boarded
And eat ice cream by the sea.

Tenby where there’s been so many favourite moments,
Wave after wave after wave.
